The first plastic bricks were invented and patented in Europe by Hilary 'Harry' Fisher Page (1904 - 1957). These so-called "interlocking building bricks' were produced by the company Kiddicraft, founded in 1932 by Hilary Page.

In 1949 Ole Kirk Christiansen and his son Godtfred Kirk Christiansen used this invention to produce similar building bricks, the classic LEGO bricks. Later on there were more manufacturers entering the market with building bricks, including Mega Bloks, Best-Lock and Sluban.

With over 2,700 exhibitors from 63 countries, the Spielwarenmesse is the number one for toys, hobbies and leisure products where all the market leaders are represented. The exhibition covers an area of 160,000 m2 with a unique mix of more than 1 million products. Of course Sluban is also present with a stand and will introducee three new series.

The fair runs from 1 untill 6 February 2012 in Nuremberg, open daily from 9:00 - 18:00 and the last day from 9:00 - 17:00. You can visit us at booth A-39 in Hall 6.
